What is a learning portfolio?

 I think a learning portfolio is a place to store all your "learning" which could be various things along the line of assignments, lessons, and classes. And most importantly notes. 

A good place to store your notes from the class so you can keep and read them later, while all your notes are organized.

A portfolio would also be helpful for open-book tests, which rely on you digging up old information from past lectures, or classes.
